Holotype Het holotype LACM 71972 is located in the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, Section of Herpetology, USA.

History
Physical description Size: 15.5-17mm.
Distribution 985-1070 m elevation on the Alto del Buey, a mountain in the Serranía de Baudó, Chocó, Colombia.
Biotope In the Alto del Buey area M. altobueyensis is found in a cool, misty biotope with secondary grasses and ferns.
Care and breeding They can be kept at a temperature of 23-25°C.
