Type locality "Strassenrand der Carretera Central F. Basadre von Tingo María nach Pucallpa, ca. 3 km oberhalb des Ortes Prebisto, Tal des Río Prebisto, Am Osthang der Cordillera Azul, etwa 550 m NN, Departamento Ucayali, Perú".
Holotype The holotype ZFMK 64838 is located in the Zoologisches Forschungsinstitut und Museum Alexander Koenig in Bonn Germany.
Etymology
Classification In de Epipedobates pictus group according to the original description. Schulte shifted E. rubriventris into subspecies level of E. hahneli.

Biotope
Care and breeding They can be kept at a temperature of 25-27°C.
