| Physical description | Size 30-40mm. The colouring is usually black with a yellow or orange "splashed" back, like a paint has been dropped on his back. The colouring on the back can vary from yellow via orange and (red)brown to black. |
| Distribution | Lowland forests of southern tributaries of the Amazon, from the Rio Tapajós east to the mouth of the Amazon, Brazil. |
| Biotope | The lowest layers of the forest where little light reaches the ground. |
| Care and breeding | Dendrobates Galactonotus is a ground dweller, that can easily be kept in a vivarium of 60x40x40 cm with a temperature between 25 and 27°C. The light is for these frogs not really important. They lay about 12 eggs. Care is similar to the care of Dendrobates tinctorius. |
